We are pleased to introduce Sakowin, whose company mission is to actively contribute to their Net Zero emission objectives, through competitive and 100% decarbonated sustainable hydrogen production solutions.
Founded by Gerard Gatt, with a rapidly growing team of over 30 professionals, the company is focused on producing eco-friendly hydrogen using methane plasmalysis. Their compact, modular, and stackable equipment fits seamlessly into existing industrial and gas systems, offering on-site, on-demand hydrogen production with adjustable capacity to suit different user needs.
Sakowin is one of the 50 selected companies in Cohort 1 and part of the Sustainable Freight Transportation group.
What’s the biggest industry problem that you’re tackling and how?
The main challenge we face is not at all to demonstrate that our technology works, but rather to get institutions to understand it. Our technology has the potential to make a significant impact, but without a change in mindset among key decision-makers, its full potential may not be realized. By building strong relationships with institutions and showing them clear, data-driven evidence of our impact, we aim to provide a technically and economically relevant solution for manufacturers, and thus enable widespread adoption of our solution.
What keeps you awake at night about your startup?
Honestly, the challenges we face don't keep me awake at night. That's because I have immense confidence in the talented and dedicated teams I work with every day. Knowing that I have a group of professionals who are as committed to our mission as I am reassured me deeply. We are all aligned on our objectives and share a spirit of collaboration that makes even the most difficult problems seem surmountable. This collective confidence and determination allows me to sleep soundly, knowing that we are well prepared to face the obstacles that lie ahead.
In your wildest dreams, what would success look like for your company?
In my scenario, success will position Sakowin as a recognized leader in energy transition, a company synonymous with innovative and indispensable solutions that bring about substantial change. We'd be at the forefront of the industry, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future. Ultimately, our work would result in a significant, quantifiable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, proving that our solutions don't just support sustainability, but move the needle. This result would validate all our efforts and position us as a driving force in the global effort to combat climate change.
To support our growing network and its startups, we invite potential stakeholders (investors, lead customers, mentors, and supporting partners) to apply here.
